About me
My research activities in brief
I am Ilaria Stanzani and I am currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at University of Genova. My research focuses on the exploration and modelisation of the Academic Collaboration Network (ACN), the structure that connects researchers between them. My goal is to simplify the sharing and the communication between all fields of research.
Bio & resume
My academic career so far
I am a physicist by training, with a bachelor degree in Physics at University of Bologna and a master degree Physics of Complex Systems at University of Turin.
Teaching
Courses and teaching activities
Toghether with Prof. Annalisa Barla I have co-supervised the Master Degree thesis in Bioengineering of Giulia Ratto, with the title : “Capturing the landscape of neurological research through machine learning and data visualization. Two exemplary cases: Multiple Sclerosis and Alzheimer’s Disease”. In addition, I have done teaching support activities in two courses taught by my supervisor, one in Data Visualization and one in Machine Learning in Medicine.
Network
In my research work I’m supervides by Annalisa Barla, associate professor at University of Genova. Toghether we are working with Daniele Pretolesi, Andrea Vian and Stefano Ravera.
Partnership
Institutions and companies I have worked with
After graduating I won a position as a Lagrange Fellow at ISI Foundation in Turin. During this year of research, I worked on the analysis, characterization and visualization of the relationship between electoral patterns and socio-economic indicators in the urban context of some Italian cities.
Specifically, I worked on electoral and socio-economic data from Italian cities to highlight, characterize and visualize common electoral clusters by combining geospatial and socio-economic information using Machine Learning and Data Visualization approaches.
